You can have all this world Just give me Jesus God's continual charge in both the Old and New Testaments to not conform to the ways of this lost and hell bent world Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Be Transformed, Not Conformed Romans Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is thewill of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. In I Peter 2: Normal is the big house, fancy car, greedy, bling-bling filled, self-important, in your face, self-centered life that everybody seems to want.

The farthest thing from his mind was the thought that he had any right to that sacrifice. That is your spiritual worship. As Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 6: And that can be tougher than actually being a martyr for Christ.

Paul wanted the early Christians to understand that everything they did, whether it be Sunday or Tuesday, they did for the glory of God.

There were no neat little compartments in their lives. Every task we do is for His glory. Our Lives are Transformed When people look at Christians, they need to be looking at Transformers, people who have been changed from one thing to another, people who have put off the old nature and put on the new nature.

Love one another sincerely. Keep your spiritual fervor burning brightly. Maintain your hope no matter how dark things get. Be patient in the midst of affliction. Be faithful in prayer. Be hospitable with everyone. But God has called us to un-common. Common is retaliating when someone does you wrong.

Un-common is praying for them and blessing them. Those of us who were baptized into Christ had our lives cleaned up by God — washed, purified, holy. But the temptation will always be there, to go back to acting like we always did, to conform to the world in which we live.

We can conform to the world around us and take on its characteristics and its concerns. But when we do that, we will lose our identity. We will cease to be what God has called us to be. To share posts, head to your live site.

Meelhuysen. Nov 29,  · [romans ] In our secular world, we usually conform to societal values and expectation. Not until we change our mindset against the expectation of our society, we shall find it difficult, if not impossible, to follow the tenets of our Christian life/5(9).
